Om Pudovkins "Sjakkfeber"

Sjakkfeber (ru. Shakhmatnaya goryachka; eng. Chess Fever) er en russisk komedie fra 1925. Filmen er regissert av Vsevolod Pudovkin (1893-1953) og ble laget under den sovjetiske filmens storhetstid. På denne tiden lagde Eisenstein, Kulesjov og Pudovkin filmer som ingen filminteresserte kommer utenom: Panserkrysseren Potemkin, Streik, Oktober, Moren …

Sjakkfeber hører ikke til de største filmene fra denne epoken, men det er en morsom film og et viktig tidsdokument. Det er en film som eksperimenterer med klippeteknikk. For sjakkinteresserte er det interessant å se glimt av Capablanca, Marshall, Reti og Torre.
